'Tis the Season! (or maybe 'twas!)

I am waaay behind in the blogging world....but, that is nothing new!  Here are a few pictures leading up to Christmas for our family.  We had a wonderful Christmas season.  I feel certain that the excitement of this year will be one of my greatest memories.  Owen really loved celebrating and talked non-stop of his friend Ho-Ho.  Both boys picked up on tons of Christmas songs and talked about baby Jesus.  Payton is at such a fun age and was an awesome big brother as he seemed to worry more about Owen than he did himself.

We enjoyed the Mt. Pleasant Christmas Parade with the high school youth group.  We had great seats and Owen LOVED looking for Ho-Ho.  He wore his bell just so Ho Ho would see it (related to his love of the Polar Express book).

The boys with Aubrey and Gracie, two of the triplets that go to our church.  The Webb boys love these girls!

Finally, Santa Claus arrived!  In Mt P, Santa rides in a ladder truck.

Owen talked for weeks about seeing Ho Ho in the fire truck and showing him his bell.

The next weekend, our parents came to town for our annual White-Webb Christmas Celebration
Meme brought the boys 2 new books!  Thanks Meme!

As always, we went to see the Christmas lights on Friday night.  We got there early this year and were able to take a train ride around the lights for the first time ever.  It was a great way to see the lights!

Our favorite light in the whole place...a beehive!

While waiting to see Santa, we ran into Mrs. Claus who showed the boys a bell that had fallen off of Santa's sleigh.  They were amazed!

Finally, we made it up to see Santa....no tears this year....we had two very excited boys!

Payton was excited to tell Santa that he wanted a microphone stand for his drums, while Owen told Ho Ho all about the motorcycle he wanted him to bring, yes, a motorcycle to ride!
Seriously, this doesn't even begin to capture the excitement of the season!

My highlight of the night came just after seeing Santa.  As we walked away, we ran into Mrs. Claus again.  She had candy canes for the boys (watermelon flavor due to a malfunction in the machine in the North Pole!).  She told Payton he had to sing her a Christmas song to get the candy cane.  I bent over and suggested Away in A Manager.  I assumed his wouldn't sing or would pick a different song...instead, he sang every single word to Away in a Manager...perfectly....and I was in tears!  It was one of my proudest moments yet!

**You will also notice that these pictures are missing one thing....a pacifier!  Thanks to our friend Clyde, our Elf, we are pacifier-free.  Clyde knew it was time for Owen to give up his paci.  One night, Clyde took Owen's paci to the North Pole.  In exchange, he left $5 in Owen's stocking with a note saying that he was SO proud and that Owen could pick a prize at the store.  We went right to Target after school the following day.  Owen picked two things - a small motorcyle for $4 and a $1 bag of peanuts!  Crazy kid!  We have been paci free since that day!  Thanks for the help Clyde!
