Meme and Pawpaw come to town!

We had a great visit with Chad's parents this weekend. Payton was so happy to have a surprise visit from them! I picked him up from school on Thursday to tell him that Meme and Pawpaw were coming and within about 5 minutes they were pulling in our driveway to visit! He was waiting by the window looking for Meme and Pawpaw to pull in and for Daddy to get home from work. He was so excited to see their car pull up in our driveway!

We enjoyed a very relaxing weekend with them! They watched Payton so we could enjoy a nice dinner on Friday night. We tried a local Italian restaurant, Capriccio, and it was great. We have a new favorite! Thanks Matt and Lindsey for the recommendation!

Saturday was a very low key day. We had a great lunch at Poes - it was so nice to eat there as it was starting to feel like spring outside! We watched another miserable UNC defeat. We skipped Payton's nap because he refused to sleep and headed off to the park. Meme and Pawpaw enjoyed seeing Payton play at Big Toy.

The playground was packed with kids of all ages. He had so much fun running and playing on the toys. Luckily we were able to contain him in the toddler area. Payton's birthday party will be at Big Toy this year. After the park Meme and Payton played outside and helped pick up pine cones that were scattered throughout the entire yard! He drove his tractor for her and played ball! He loves to be outside!

We enjoyed dinner at the Japanese restaurant. We were worried about how Payton would do without his nap. No need to worry! He ate more food than I could have imagined! He ate over half of my veggies, a little rice, a lot of chicken and at least 6 or 7 shrimp. Another category where he compares to his big cousin Carson!

Once again, the weekend came to a close to quickly. Meme and Pawpaw headed home on Sunday morning as we headed off to church. Payton had a great time with them and was sad they had to go home.
