Game Day

UNC vs. Duke

Owen was able to attend the pre-game party at Kade's house in Raleigh.

Unfortunately, the tip-off was too late for little "O" and he went to spend the night in Apex while we went to the game.  Poor second child!  Payton is only 2, and this was his 3rd Duke game.  Owen will have to wait another year.  This may get interesting as they get older!! 

We saw Meme and Pawpaw outside the Dean Dome.

Game time....time to focus!

The man who sat beside of us commented that he bet Payton would be asleep before the half.  I responded, "Not this kid!"  Mommy was right.  Payton stayed awake and focused for the entire game.  He cheered loudly...and gave the occasional "booo" for the Duke Yucks!

He celebrated after the game.

The Heels won the game - giving us the ACC Regular Season Championship....that is correct, We're #1!

Payton even stayed awake to watch the team cut down the nets.

 As we were pulling out of the parking lot, he started to cry because he was so sad to see his friends go home!  He was SO pitiful that we ended up going to Jenny's house for a little post-game "party."  Complete with:

The college student staple food item....Pokey Sticks....yummy!

Payton stayed awake long enough to enjoy his first ever pokey sticks!

The post-game party, shared with good friends and a very active 2 year old isn't what we would have imagined 10 years ago (as we rushed to Franklin St to celebrate) but it sure was a lot of fun!!
