Wow! I have SO many post that I need to share with all of you - I desperately want to share so many fun and interesting things with all of you - but once again I find myself with too few hours in the day!
In the past few weeks, I've missed several important posts including those that should be titled something like:
Owen is 9 months Old (and, as of today has 6 teeth, is on the MOVE...army crawl on the belly, is pulling to stand, and is getting IN TO EVERYTHING!)
Payton Turns 3!
Celebrate Good Times!
Starting on Thursday March 24th, the birthday celebrations began....and continued through Sunday March 27th. We had a blast and loved every minute of sharing with family, friends, and a big group of 3 year olds. I love birthdays....and I love making them extra special for my boys. We collected more money for Water Missions International and felt great making that contribution in honor of Payton's birthday.
Missional Life
Chad and I recently finished up a class at church with one of our pastors, John, and a small group of other growing Christians. It was awesome and I want to share some of my personal growth and my current sense of call and mission with you.
Becoming a Deacon....and no, not from Wake Forest
Chad is in the process of becoming a Deacon at our church. He is just over half way through 5 weeks of classes. I am so proud of him and the wonderful man he is becoming.
BOOMER!
Boomer Esiason traveled to Charleston last Thursday night to speak at a CF Family Day event at the SC Aquarium. Boomer's son, who is now 19 years old, has Cystic Fibrosis. I was able to help set this event up for many staff members from MUSC and most importantly lots of my patients family members. It was a wonderful night! I have a new respect for Boomer Esiason and the work he is able to do to create awareness for Cystic Fibrosis.
Girls & Guitars
On Friday morning, at 6:00 in the morning, I flew away to Nashville, TN to celebrate with my good friend Jessica who is getting married at the end of the month. We rarely have time to spend more than an hour or two together over a holiday here and there so it was great to have a whole weekend to spend with her. We spent Friday and most of Saturday doing stuff related to the weekend - dress fitting, shoe shopping, dinner and shower for her Bachelorette party, an afternoon tea for another shower. After all the "showering" was over, I was finally able to meet her fiance - who is just a great as she claimed! - and attend 2 song writers rounds as part of Tin Pan South with them. It was the perfect way to end a great weekend in Nashville. I can't wait to go back with Chad - it is one place he has never been and I know he would love it!
Home Sweet Home
I made it home on Sunday afternoon - to find my sweet baby was now MOBILE! Life has already changed. We spent the afternoon playing outside. On Monday morning, Chad headed out of town. he'll be back soon but it is sure to be an interesting week.
Lizzy! Eek!
Lizzy is the name I've given the little creature I found in Payton's room - a green lizard sitting on his floor on Monday night. Success! I panicked....and then quickly went into action. Within 2 or 3 minutes I had the lizard scooped up and outside...where she belongs! Close call!
Hopefully I can find time to expand on each of these "soon-to-be" posts in the next few days - and add in so many of the cute pictures we have to document each of these events.
