After lunch at Poe's, we headed downtown for a few tourist stops. We hit up the market, saw a few horses, had trouble finding parking, and hit up the candy stores for a few samples of warm praline candy!
On the way downtown, I realized that I forgot Owen's stroller - with gas at 3.50 a gallon, and the distance we were from home, I opted to stop at the local kids consignment store on the way downtown - and scored this handy, cheap, Winnie-the-Pooh umbrella stroller for Owen. It is NOT my style, was not very user friendly for bumpy bricks in Charleston, and was a little low for me....but, it surely beat toting around a 20 lb baby boy! We'll keep this one in the car for back-up from now on!
Owen enjoyed his new bargain used stroller!
All things Moon Pie!
There is now a Moon Pie General Store on Market Street - who knew there were so many flavors!
After a few hours downtown, we headed home to "rest" before heading back out, across the Cooper River Bridge again, to eat at California Dreaming - a favorite of Chad's family. We had early dinner reservations so we could get back home in time to see the Heels in the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament - when Payton was born, just a week before the Final Four, we knew that the tournament and his birthday would always coincide - this was just one, of many years, of many attempts at getting birthday celebrations timed just perfectly for the sporting events. For those of you who don't know us on a truly personal basis, that may sound selfish, but if you knew Payton you would understand that watching the Tarheels was a bigger priority that his birthday! If given the option, he would pick watching the Heels over nearly anything!
Game time!
Carlton and Darlene with Payton
One great big family - enjoying the game.
Half-time of the game = birthday cake
Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday sweet, baby Payton, Happy Birthday to you!
Finger lickin' good!

Definitely a picture I will cherish for years to come!
Payton and Addie - they loved playing together!
Payton had his very own little cake on his actual birthday. I had a larger cake and cookout planned for Saturday.
