He's a SHARK!

Payton has moved on to organized sport #2....and, this one is much more organized than the last!  This past Saturday we traveled to Daniel Island for the start of the 3 and 4 year old flag football season.  Payton's team name is the Sharks.  After only 1 week, I can tell that flag football is going to be much better than soccer was this past fall.  Of course, it helps that Mr. Rusty, one of our close family friends, is Payton's coach and Holman, one of his best buds, is on his team.  Rusty is a former Shelby High football player, so he must be good....(Rusty will never read this blog, but that is a wee bit of sarcasm directed at Coach Rusty....just in case!).  We'll be enjoying Shark's football with Coach Rusty for 8 weeks this winter.

For the first game, we were blessed with a large fan base...Meme & Pawpaw and Grandma & Grandpa joined us for Payton's debut!

Ready for a big play - Holman # 5 and Payton # 2

Team huddle

Payton has just taken the ball from Coach Rusty and he's determined to score!

He's fast and he speeds by his defenders!

Unfortunately, his defender caught his shoe and Payton lost his balance...

...he held on to the ball but ended up going head over heels for a complete flip!  Mommy is grateful for her rapid fire camera and this awesome picture!  Payton did score 1 touchdown in the season opener.  The touchdown was quickly followed by a chest bump with teammate Holman.

The Champs!
Payton (3 1/2) and Holman (5)

After the game, Payton was SO excited and told Chad the game was "so much fun!"  The next few weeks might be cold but they will definitely be full of laughs and excitement.

GO TEAM!
