Our halloween festivities started the Friday night before Halloween. For the 3rd year in a row, we were excited to attend our churches Fall Festival and Trunk or Treat.
While I wanted to be that Mom who carefully selected her kids costumes....cute and matching - adorable to the point that everyone would notice and comment on just how adorable they were....I decided the time had come to let them just be boys. We headed off to T@rget a few weeks before Halloween and let the boys choose whatever costume they wanted. Payton quickly selected Captain America. Owen took time to look through several costumes but once he saw "that" Man, he quickly determined that he would be "That" Man. "That" Man is the name that stuck with his costume...and still does. In his words, he was "That" Man and Payton was "Mer-i-ca."
The cheap T@rget costumes were cheap...and perfect...and super easy....and they did look really cute and people commented anyway! I must admit they looked pretty cute too and I can't think of any costumes that would have suited them any better this year!
My tiny super hero, That Man
My big hero, saving the world, Captian America
The best news is that there were extra super heros all around...the world was safe!
Owen, Payton, Jack, Drew
Jack and Drew left their Mommy and new baby sister, just a day old, back at the hospital! We missed sweet baby Sydney. She would have fit right in as Wonder Woman!
Afterall, it just can't get much more adorable than this....
Batman and Robin....and best beds in real life too!
Owen and Drew...or, Drewie as Owen calls him!
Let the trunk or treats begin! The boys had a great time walking from car to car. Fortunately, they got just the right amount of candy.
Once we made our way through the cars, we headed inside for more fun. The middle school ministries did a great job with indoor games - cake walk, fishing, bopping for apples, bag toss, etc. They also had a hay ride and haunted house. We skipped the haunted house but did enjoy the hay ride around the church grounds.
Drew taking a break
We also ran into the Hulk (aka Graham) before the end of the night.
The Hulk costume was one of my favorites....sweet little Graham looks so scary and fierce in this costume. Cracks me up!
We had a great time at our first Halloween event and the excitement was just enough to help us look forward to our other upcoming events of the weekend.
