Snow days

We have had lots of delays, an early release and even a few missed days of school due to extremely cold temperatures and a little precipitation but the boys were still waiting on their first snow.

The last week of January brought our first snow of the season.  The snow started on Tuesday morning and continued all day long.  It was a dry snow so it didn't amount to much but the 2+ inches were enough to make my boys wild with excitement!  Good thing the boys got lots of new cold weather gear for Christmas.  Our snow day was the perfect chance to try out all of our new gear (including goggles for sledding!).

We packed up and headed over the Meme's so the boys could have a few small hills to sled down and to play with KK and Carson.  They had a blast playing on their new sleds and making snow angels!  It continued snowing while we played on Tuesday.  We tried to sled again on Wednesday but the snow started melting quickly and left a mushy, muddy mess.

This was the perfect warm-up for our ski trip.  The boys got a taste of cold snow and were ready to see more.  We saw more snow while in the mountains and this week they are predicting from 2 - 8 inches....the boys will be thrilled!!
