7 month milestones

You are now 7 1/2 months old. You have met and surpassed so many milestones. It has become increasing obvious in the last week to two weeks that you are no longer our innocent little baby boy but rather a curious, growing child who loves to explore and entertain.

You truly amaze your dad and me every single day. I find myself laughing and crying all at the same moment because I am in awe of the child you have already become. You have four teeth...FOUR! Your two top teeth come in more and more each day. As you can see, they are nicely spaced...we won't call you Bucky just yet!

The last week has been a busy one. I have lost track of all the new things you have accomplished. You have learned to "pop" kisses and love to pop them back at me after I blow them to you. You just started doing that one morning while I was getting ready for work. You love your jumper and use it for at least an hour each day - its the only way I can get ready in the mornings. However, you have turned your jumper into a flying trapeze - you are so daring and rather than jump, you now spring from the back of the area to the front and back and forth as long as we will let you.

You scream with joy and laugh when mommy gets scared by your daring movements. The faster you go and the harder the jumper hits the door frame the harder you laugh. Your daddy was home every night this week so we were both very happy. One afternoon, daddy was playing with you on the bed. You thought it was so funny that you squealed when you laughed - this of course made us all laugh a little harder. Scooting is now a thing of the past and you are now a crawler. Your form has improved and you are very quick! Yesterday as I attempted to get housework done you surprised me by being off the rug and on the hardwood floor, nearly 6 feet from where I had left you, when I turned around. Not only does your crawling impress us but you have also started pulling up to a standing position. Daddy and I are your favorite objects to pull up on.

No hands (and no support from Dad)! High five!

You fall down and pull right back up again. You love to pull up on us to try to get closer to Bailey. Tonight, we let you play in the bonus room/play room and you climbed into your toy basket (with no assistance!) and attempted to climb up the stairs.

Your favorite toys are the colorful plastic cups that you can stack, unstack and chew on and the plastic rings. You have an extreme interest in tags and you quickly find the tag on any item - blanket, bib, toy, burb cloth - and rub it between your fingers! You LOVE to be outside. We have learned to let you play outside as much as possible.

The fall weather has been perfect for you! You wore a sweater for the first time today. I must say, your sweater and jeans were just to cute. We are planning to take you and Bailey to the beach tomorrow. Today we made our first trip to the park and you enjoyed swinging in the swings and sliding down the slide (with daddy holding you).

There was a dog playing near the park and you loved watching it too! We now automatically sit you in the restaurant high chairs and tonight we didn't even take your car seat in with us. We are often reminded that you are still our little baby boy - like tonight when you feel asleep on daddy's chest in the restaurant. I know those precious moments will be gone before too long too! Each day you amaze me! I cannot believe how quickly you have changed....I love it and hate it all at the same time....it is so fun to watch you grow, learn, and change but so sad to know my little baby is already such a big boy!!

Things you have accomplished in the last two weeks:

Your first Halloween has come and gone. We still love to play with our musical Halloween toys - they keep you occupied during diaper changes!

You loved playing outside in your excersaucer...and you love wearing your jacket! You have such a wonderful disposition and personality.

You love being around people! You love when we have visitors - like Jenny and Daniel and Andrew and Laura. Tonight at dinner several people commented that you were so cute - you immediately smiled at them as if to say "thanks!"

You managed to claim some items from the couch after pulling up to get them.

You still love playing with Ella, Bailey and Cindyrella everyday. What would we do without all of them!?!?

You love your daddy - but you have become a momma's boy (I think). You often cry when I leave the room and tend to cling to me more each day. I am flattered but I really don't want that to happen. I have to learn to let you fuss sometimes!

I can't wait to see what the next few weeks bring us. I can't wait to see your face as we begin decorating for Christmas and celebrating with family. I just pray you won't pull my tree down! We love you so much little P!
