It is almost over! Chad will finally be home tonight. Once again, to all the single mothers out there you get a HUGE round of applause! Chad left to go out of town for work on April 27th, this was followed by Eric's bachelor party April 30th - May 3rd. He did make it home around 1 am on Sunday night. Wednesday he was off again to Charlotte. He will finally be back home tonight and hopefully here to stay for a few days! Living like a single mom for 10 of the last 12 days was no easy task. I must admit there were a few times I was little stressed and I may have been a little snappy and even a bit of a drama queen about my situation....I know, shocking! Thanks to my friends and co-workers for dealing with me! I have to thank Matt and Lindsey and Andrew and Laura for checking in on me and allowing me to spend a little extra time with them several times in the past two weeks. Lindsey, you were a huge help with Payton and child care arrangements...THANK YOU!
Aside from Chad being gone, our air conditioner broke and it took 1 week to get it fixed, Miss Cindy was sick for 4 days, I had a piece of metal in my tire which I had to have repaired, we had some drama at work and I had to get our quarterly bug spray finished. I have a long to-do-list that I'm continuing to work on. On top of that, I'm supposed to be cleaning my house for my parents and Grandfather's arrival. Clearly I'm putting that off for a much needed update! Hope they don't mind a little dirt this time! Unfortunately, Payton's "Fun Friday" will be spent watching Mommy clean!
We did manage to have a little fun while Chad was out of town. We had dinner with Andrew and Laura, we had a play date with Ella and Lila, we met up with my friend from high school Mary and her husband for dinner at the Boathouse on Friday night, we met Matt, Lindsey and Ella at the beach Saturday morning and had lunch at Poe's.
Unfortunately, Lila was exhausted and didn't get to stay for the entire time. We had planned to meet at the park and play for a while and follow up with a picnic. Payton and Ella sat right down on the towels with us and acted like they had been to hundreds of picnics. I guess I shouldn't be surprised...show them food and they will come. They sat and ate their food and then played around us for close to an hour. It was so nice and relaxing to chat with Lindsey and watch them play. They are so cute as they learn to play together.
Picnic time!
Beach time on Sullivan's
Heading off to Poe's. The worst part of the beach with a toddler is cleaning them up to leave!
Saturday afternoon we went to the C of C baseball game and had dinner with Andrew and Laura again. Sunday we waited around for Tony, the "air guy" who finally arrived but couldn't fix the problem. Monday, Cindy was sick so I stayed home with Payton and we waited around for Tony again...finally fixed the air!!!
My parents celebrated their wedding anniversary on Tuesday, May 5th...HAPPY ANNIVERSARY Grandma and Grandpa!
We will be so happy to have Chad home with us tonight. We are looking forward to a wonderful weekend with my parents and my Papaw, Grandpa Joe. We are so happy for him to feel good enough to make the trip and visit with Payton. Payton has quickly picked up "Papaw" so I'm sure he will smile when he hears Payton say it in person!
We have a busy few weeks ahead of us. My college friend, Alli, is getting married next weekend and unfortunately we will have to miss that. The following week Chad and I will celebrate our 4th anniversary. We are looking forward to a relaxing weekend and some quality time together. Meme and Pawpaw will be coming to watch Payton here in Charleston. Although we have traveled a few times in the past year we have never traveled alone...or without Kade....so unless Kade shows up for this one (kidding!) we will enjoy our first time away from Payton with just the two of us! The following weekend is the big Hoots-Howe wedding. We are looking forward to our trip to Chapel Hill (and seeing Kade :) )as we celebrate with Eric and Amy. I guess Amy will officially become Payton's Godmother on May 30th....I wonder if that is part of the vows...might have to speak to Rev. Hoots about that! We will be home for one weekend in June and then we are back on the road. We will be traveling to Gatlinburg, TN for a Webb Family Vacation with Chad's family.
Happy Mother's Day to all the Mom's out there! Have a wonderful weekend!
