After spending the week with Chandra, Calyn, and Carson, Chad and I were heading off to St. Thomas for the week. Chandra was so wonderful in agreeing to take Payton back to East Bend with her so he could stay with his grandparents for the week while we were out of town.
We have left Payton with his grandparents a few other times - for Johnny and Hilary's wedding when he was only 3 1/2 months old; to go to Hawaii over Thanksgiving when he was 8 months old; to go to the wonderful city of Detroit for the Final Four when he was just over a year old; and to go out of town for a long weekend for our Anniversary in May. With all that listed, it seems like I should have been ok with leaving him for another week...but it was really hard to leave him this time! Chad travels so much with work that I think it is necessary to have the occasional trips to keep our (mine for sure!) sanity! Payton probably doesn't know we are gone and he LOVES his time in NC with family and they LOVE their time with him for sure!!
Payton left here with Chandra Friday morning and headed to Meme and Pawpaw's in East Bend. She had to hand him over immediately! He stayed in East Bend until Tuesday. On Tuesday he went to my parents in Sherrills Ford. He stayed there through Thursday. Thursday night they brought Payton back to Charleston, with my Aunt Moe and Uncle Alfred, to await our return on Friday. I was so ready to get back to see him!
He had a great time with his family in NC. He was able to see so many people that he would not be able to see in a quick weekend trip. In East Bend he saw all his family and had fun eating homemade ice cream! He spent a lot of time with my grandpa Joe, even went to a doctor's appointment with him, and I'm sure that was better treatment than any medication could ever be!
Any pictures from the grandparents are welcome!!

Wait a minute......correction on the blog - Aunt Chandra and cousin Carson were the first to keep Payton while his mommy and daddy were out of town. We were the lucky babysitters last summer while Chad and Jessica went to the wedding!
