Finally! Owen made his first visit to Chapel Hill and we made our first trip back since early in 2010. I think this is the longest I've been away from Chapel Hill since 1999....my how I've missed that place!
We arrived late Friday and enjoyed dinner at Nantucket with Amy and Eric and Kade. Dessert please :) After dinner, Payton got the chance to go with Chad and Eric to the Smith Center and got to play around on the court. He stayed up well past his bedtime but it was worth it! He talked about it all weekend.
On Saturday morning, my WONDERFUL mother met up with us to steal Owen away for the day. She had already spent Mon - Thurs at our house to help me survive my week and week full of meetings while Chad was away. On Saturday, she took Owen to my cousin Kim's house where they spent the day spoiling him rotten!
I hate that he didn't make his 1st official trip onto campus but we'll be back soon enough. We enjoyed our day with Payton at the game and they enjoyed their day with Owen....it all worked out for the best!
We met up with my younger cousin, Cole, who spent the day tailgating with us and going to the UNC vs. Clemson game. It was great to see him.
We started off tailgating with Chad's old suitemates - Porter and Brad. Payton enjoyed playing cornhole...its easy to score if you walk up to the hole.

We spent a little time with my Aunt Moe and Uncle Alfred prior to going to the game as well. Unfortunately, we didn't get any pictures. Payton was so excited to see them. When we told him we were going to see Uncle Alfred he asked if he was going to have his goats with him....not at the tailgate buddy, we'll see them over thanksgiving!

Game time! Go Heels!
A very intense 2 1/2 year old watching the Heels vs. the Tigers
We also got to see Eric and Amy, CJ, and Jenny and Daniel at the game.
Although a little warm, it was a great day for football in Chapel Hill....even better because the Heels beat the Tigers...which makes it a little easier to live in Tiger and Gamecock country! Payton LOVED the game and we can't wait to take him back.
