I had to travel to Baltimore, MD from Oct 20th - 23rd for the North American Cystic Fibrosis Conference. Fortunately for Chad (and my own sanity), Meme and Pawpaw were able to head down to Charleston for the days I was away. This made it much easier for me to leave for 4 full days.
I must give a BIG round of applause to Chad for doing an awesome job while I was gone! It was a bad week to be away (not that there would ever be a good one) because we had several activities planned. Chad could have easily decided not to participate in one or two of these...but instead, he did them all! He wins the award for best hubby and best Daddy for the week for sure!
On Wednesday night, he had back-to-back softball games. His parents took both boys out to see the 1st game. Payton is still talking about the game!
On Friday, our church had a fall festival. When I left for my conference, part of Payton's Buzz Lightyear costume was still on its way so I didn't even have a chance to "review" the costume with Chad before "show time". Chad got Payton dressed and ready and all of them headed off to the fall festival. While sitting in a crucial Medicaid/Medicare reform session, I got the most precious text with a picture of my little Buzz Lightyear. The people around me may have thought I was crazy...crying over Medicaid reform....but, it was really tears of joy over how cute Payton looked and tears of sadness at the same time that I was missing such a fun night.
On Saturday, Meme and Pawpaw kept Owen at home while Chad and Payton headed off to Graham's 2n birthday party.
Payton and a few of his favorite girls :)
Fireman Payton
Payton and the birthday boy, Graham....looks like they are in deep conversation!
Payton had a blast at the Sullivan's Island Fire Department and at the park. What a great birthday party!
Thanks to Meme and Pawpaw for coming to help out for a few days! It was great to spend Pawpaw's birthday with him on Saturday, October 23rd as well. Chad, you amaze me! Thanks for being such a great Daddy and making sure Payton was able to take part in all the fun events of the week. I hate I missed out on all the fun but its much easier to handle being away from my babies when I know how easy you made it seem! Thanks :)
