The BIG BOY Goal

On a sunny Sunday morning, the birthday boy woke up to find this:

A BIG BOY BASKETBALL GOAL!

His first shot on his big boy goal....

....it went in! That's a good sign, right? 

SWISH!

Of course, little brother's want to do everything their big brother does so Owen followed behind hoping to get his first shot on the new goal.

With a little help from Dad, his shot went in too!

We headed off to church but following lunch, we changed clothes and headed back outside to play.

We used sidewalk chalk to draw the foul line and the 3 point line and it was game ON!

We spent a little time on the phone getting Happy Birthday wishes as well.  While I still haven't joined the masses and upgraded to an iPhone, it is nice that most of our family members have one....because with an iPhone comes Face Time...and with Face Time comes face to face birthday wishes from cousins despite being hours apart!

Grandma arrived later in the day and then it was time for a few more presents from Mom and Dad!

*Yes, I shamelessly bought this for 2.50 at a consignment sale...its a modified version of Wii sports...hooks up to the TV and Payton plays right along!  Great for $2.50

We celebrated with cake (the top of the drum cake left over from the party the week before....I put it in the freezer to save for the actual day...and despite a week in the freezer it was still pretty tasty!)

Hope he made lots of good wishes for the upcoming year!  This was definitely a great way to spend a birthday!
