A Busy Halloween Day!

What were you favorite holiday memories as a child? I don't necessarily consider Halloween a holiday but there is one memory from Halloween that falls in line with Thanksgiving and Christmas. No, not candy! Charlie Brown!

It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown is a classic! I may be an adult, but I always try to watch all of the Charlie Brown classics. They seem to really kick-off the holiday season. My mom included It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown in Payton's Halloween bag. Payton doesn't watch any cartoons when he is at home and usually the only TV he does watch is sports related. I wanted him to watch the Charlie Brown show and thought we would love seeing all the pumpkins.
I made a BIG deal about the TV show and stationed him in front of the TV after breakfast on Saturday morning. He was really into it and said Pumpkin multiple times!
He was excited to watch the show...for nearly 10 minutes! Unfortunately, Chad and I were cleaning house and didn't have time to pause for Charlie Brown. Once the vacuum cleaner started, Payton decided he would be better off to help with the chores!
So, he vacuumed....
....and he swept....
...and he helped make Halloween cookies in the shape of pumpkins and cats....
...and apparently he helped eat a little cookie dough too...another holiday favorite of mine! After baking the cookies, we let Payton decorate them with icing and sprinkles. What a mess! We needed to clean all over again!

We had a very fun and productive Halloween day!
