Boys will be boys!

In mid-August, we purchased Payton his first pair of soccer cleats and socks.  He would be starting his first "team sport" at the end of the month - Fast Start Soccer with the I@P Recreation Department.  Of course, he had to have all the necessary gear and he was SO excited to get home and try it all on for the first time!
Chad helping him get into his near gear - shin guards, big padded socks and cleats (size 11!!).

Owen looking on.....it will be his turn in the blink of an eye!

Once Payton was in full gear, we headed out for a practice session!

Owen enjoyed watching and riding while Payton played soccer.  This tricycle is PERFECT!  I wish we had it when Payton was this age.  He can't reach the pedals yet, but he can maintain his balance and loved being pushed all around the yard!

Ready, set....
 GO!

Full speed ahead....with his tongue hanging out!!
....all the way to the goal for a SCORE!
So proud!

Payton specifically asked to show off his new gear - he is SO proud of his brand new soccer cleats!

Meanwhile, Owen was content to continue riding around and watching.

Check out those SWEET curls!  I KNOW he needs a haircut but I just can't do it!  The curls are just too precious and I know once I cut them they will be gone for good.

Owen eventually moved off the tricycle and took his turn mowing the grass - at this point, he was still barely taking more than 3 or 4 steps in row.  Mowing the grass was good practice!
