Where, oh where, is the perfect pumpkin?
My parents were in the town the 2nd weekend in October. On Saturday afternoon, my Mom and I took the boys to a local church to pick out a few pumpkins. The last few years, we've always gone to the Boone Hall Pumpkin Patch. This year, we skipped out on those crowds! Payton's class was going on a field trip there later in the week and I knew he would get to experience everything that day. The church uses the pumpkin sales to raise money for a good cause so I always feel good supporting them. We were early in the season so they still had tons of pumpkins. We let the boys walk around a little to explore and find the perfect pumpkin.

All those big pumpkins, and Payton picked out a little one! We let him choose that one just for him...so, then we had to pick a big one for Daddy! We ended up with a big one for Daddy, a medium one for Mommy and 2 small ones for Payton and Owen. We also got a few tiny pumpkins for decorations and some really neat decorative squash. Payton and Owen had a great time picking all the pumpkins!
Owen had lots of fun walking through all the pumpkins.
Sweet picture...Owen give Payton a nice pat on the back while Payton is picking up a pumpkin - as if Owen is saying, "Good job brother! Thanks for picking the perfect pumpkin!"
My little pumpkins!
My baby pumpkin!
My big pumpkin!
I am so happy to welcome fall. Although, the temperature isn't really cool here, it is much more comfortable - sixty's at night, eighty during the day - we're still wearing shorts and flip flops - but, we've got all of our fall decorations out inside, fall flowers on the dining room table, a wreath and pumpkins on the porch. We're enjoying more fall foods and looking forward to more chili and vegetable soup soon! Aside from the mosquitos biting away, we're enjoying our afternoons outside playing ball, playing ball, or playing ball! We love Saturdays and Sundays full of football and our busy weekly routine fills up the days in between. We are busy every day but we've got our schedule down and it works for us! My favorite part of fall might be pumpkin spiced drinks (St@rbuck$......love, love, love!), pumpkin muffins and any other pumpkin treats.
We're looking forward to cutting our pumpkins to make a jack-o-lantern and dressing up for Halloween! We've got a busy Halloween weekend coming up but I know the kids will love every second of the excitement.
Happy Fall Ya'll!
