I will always be a Tarheel!

"I'm Payton Webb and I will always be a Tarheel"

As loyal Tarheel fans, we found the "need" to be at the 1st football game of the season - we were there to support our team (which had been under the scrutiny of an NCAA violation, had just fired our head coach, and had replaced him with a little known interim head coach).  We were also there to enjoy tailgating with friends, check out the newly completed seating addition, catch-up with fellow Tarheels, continue teaching Payton all about being a Tarheel, and cheer on the Heels for what we hope will continue to be a great football season - it is so much fun when we are a winning program!  When you see Payton inside the stadium - cheering for his Heels, wearing his jersey with pride - it is hard NOT to travel across state lines to take him to a game.  He was (of course) born into being a Tarheel, dressed in blue from day one and taught the fight song before his ABC's....but he LOVES every second of a weekend in Chapel Hill!

The "need" to be at the game required loading up the car, boarding Bailey, driving over four hours with crying kids, finding a sitter for Owen.....etc, etc, etc.  Thanks to "Uncle" Kade, we were given a fabulous place to stay (and he didn't mind at all that we bombarded his house for 4 days with 2 kids, toys, diapers, milk, bananas, chocolate syrup, and all thing kids!).  He was a great host as always and we really enjoyed our stay.  We were also able to spend more time with his girlfriend - MM - who continues to impress all of us - especially Payton! Luckily, my cousin agreed to watch Owen while we went to the game and he had so much fun that he stayed all night!  We were also able to spend time with Amy, Eric and Brady.

The Blue Zone

So, of course, before we knew it, the "horrible" four hour drive turned into a fabulous weekend in NC with some of our best friends, a few hours with sweet baby Brady (even if it was in a red room that gave him a panic attack), my family, a Tarheel football game and a BEAUTIFUL day in Chapel Hill with gorgeous Carolina blue skies.  The best part is that it was Labor Day weekend, so we had a whole extra day to spend away from home.

We made it back home on Monday night.  We worked Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.  Tuesday night I attended Bible Study; Wednesday we both went to church for dinner, I went to a class while Chad went to his softball game; and by Thursday the car was re-packed so we could make our way back into NC for a weekend in the mountains.
