Sawyer - 4 months old

How is it possible that four months have passed.

My sweet baby boy, what a busy four months it has been.  I am so grateful to have you by my side every day.  While having a baby in the midst of uprooting my entire life is stressful, I continue to believe that having a baby by my side keeps me calm (or as calm as possible!).

I love, love, LOVE this snugly, happy, smiling, drooling baby boy more than words can ever explain.  Of course, I am his mommy and my love for him is expected but my love for him is something that can't even be explained in words.  I just can't get enough of this baby boy. In fact, I love him so very much that I am finally starting to deal with the fact that he is not a girl.  I hope you can sense the humor in that....really, I am kidding, I dealt with it months ago!   As much as I did want a girl (there is no denying this fact, no need to lie), I simply can't imagine my life without this third boy by my side.

Sawyer is now developing a personality and I hope that this little personality sticks with him for his entire life....he is laid back and calm, he is happy and he just goes with the flow.  He cries when he is hungry or startled.  He sleeps through the night.  He smiles when he sees his mommy and that alone melts my heart.

He rolled over for the first time (from back to belly) on Christmas day.  With each passing day he flops over more and more.  He likes to get on his side to sleep (like his Mommy).

When he does wake up in the morning, he isn't always quite ready to eat....instead, we lay him the bed with us and he snuggles right up to me...could not get any closer...and usually falls back asleep (unless he is hungry, if hungry he screams!).

Can you tell this one is finally going to be a Momma's boy?!?!  I think so....finally!

Sawyer, you are a big boy!  At your 4 month visit, I was shocked to hear that you are only in the 75% for weight...I can't imagine that 25% of infants are bigger than you!  My back aches from picking you up and carrying you around.

Four month stats:
Weight - 16 lb 15 oz
Height - 25 1/4 inches
Head circ - 16 3/4 inches

Clothes - fits perfectly in 6-9 month clothing, and in a pinch 12 months really aren't so big

Socks and Shoes...so much for those cute little baby socks, your feet are huge and they will not stay on!

You are starting to show signs of sitting but mostly, you like to be held....when you are lucky enough to be out of your car seat.

Your big brothers love you almost as much as me.  They kiss you good night every night and tell you how much they love you.  They are counting down the days until you are able to talk, walk, run, play.  I pray that you might not be as wild as they are....right, Momma's boy...sweet, calm and quiet!

In your four months, we have moved, you have been to a UNC football game and a UNC basketball game, you have been back to Mt Pleasant twice, you were baptized in our church in Mt Pleasant the Sunday before Christmas (it was a beautiful ceremony), you celebrated your first Christmas with trips back and forth from East Bend to Sherrills Ford and back and to Charlotte and you even stayed up to ring in the New Year at the Cason's New Years Eve party.

It has been a wonderful four months - more than ever, I wish I could make time slow down.  I have been lucky to be home with you for now and I do enjoy all these little moments with you.  Going back to work will be so, so very difficult.  I am so blessed to have a third healthy, happy baby boy in my life....my brain never realized that my heart could love so much!
