Most of my friends will tell you that I'm not much of a bargain shopper. I love to shop at outlets and I LOVE the Gymboree sales rack where I usually get some great deals but when it comes to digging for a good deal I don't typically do very well. My childhood friend, Jessica Campbell and her mom are two of the best bargain shoppers I know. I used to enjoy going shopping with them but I would rarely walk away with a deal.....while she would find a great dress for $5!
I guess buying children's clothes has helped a little. Last week I attempted to get some great deals at two different sales. I started at Charleston Repeats - an organized consignment sale for children's clothes and furnishings. I did pretty good at the sale - nothing great but I did find a few things for Payton and Baby Boy #2.
Saturday morning we headed to Daniel Island for the island wide yard sale. Unfortunately, I was a little limited on my time but I took full advantage of the 1 1/2 hours I had to shop....and I did great! I got Payton a fabulous "new" soccer net for $1 and he loves it!
I'm beginning to think he believes this was his birthday present...along with the soccer ball we gave him to go with the net. He has already been practicing kicking the ball into the next. I got Payton a few pairs of shorts as well. I did great with baby clothes! I bought multiple smocked outfits for the baby - sizes 3 mths up to 18 mths; an adorable Polo outfit, a few Le Top outfits - which were my absolute favorite when Payton was a baby. I enjoyed it so much that I came home and started looking for the next big neighborhood sale! I've already found two in the month of April!
All of this for about $20..and it all looks brand new! Had I bought these new, I would have paid at least $40 for ONE outfit!
After the sale and the birthday party, I immediately washed the clothes and got them situated in the appropriate closet. For some reason, my nesting phase kicked in throughout Saturday and Sunday which prompted me to wash almost all of the baby clothes to get them ready for Baby Boy #2. I was forced to stop because I've run out of hangers! Hopefully I'll get finished this week. It was fun to look back at all of my favorite outfits that Payton wore when he was a baby. I can't believe how fast it has flown by! He was a big helper in the nursery as well! He is starting to learn what is his and what will be for the baby. He helped me separate some of the clothes and get some into the laundry hamper. Each time he picked up an outfit he would say "This the baby's?" I hope the excitement continues!
All those baby clothes! Nicely arranged according to size and type of outfit...let's hope my nesting phase helps out in a few other areas of the house as well!

Baby Boy #2's blue outfit to wear home from the hospital. This was actually a gift to Payton but it is tiny and he only wore it once or twice. It has a matching hat. This will be perfect for #2 to wear home from the hospital - washed and ready to go!
Let me know if you hear of any good sales!!
