Payton has finally discovered Meme's jacuzzi in her sunroom....and, I think he'll ask to use it again the next time we are there! He thought the bubbles were really fun!
After spending the week in Sherrills Ford with my family, we decided to go to East Bend for Easter weekend. A tough choice for me - as I said earlier, my plans had been to see my grandpa over Easter - so, it was a very harsh reality to know I had missed my last chance at seeing him, and having him see my kids, by one short week. But, just as he would have wanted me to do, we went on with our plans and spent the Easter weekend with Chad's family. Payton and Owen had been taken out of their routine for most of the previous week - and Payton was slowly having to grasp that Mommy and Grandma were very sad, and that Grandpa Joe "didn't live at his house anymore" so it was probably good for them to be with Calyn and Carson to play for a few days.
We made it to EB late Friday night. Meme gave Owen his bottle while Payton and Daddy played in the "pool."
Saturday morning, Chad decided to do a little cleaning - and cleaned out over half of his closet. We found some great old memories! Of course, I can't throw ANYTHING away....these weren't even my memories....but, of course we headed home with our very own Chad Webb Souvenir Collection!
We did find his "Big Red" tractor and matching T-shirt that Chad used to wear with his grandpa. It had been a very nostalgic week, so this fit right in. Of course, these were both keepers! This tractor will find a special place for sure!
We then followed through with our annual Easter egg dying. Despite the fact that we live hours apart - and that we didn't even make it home for Easter last year - we have managed to dye Easter eggs with Calyn and Carson for the past 3 years! It just keeps getting better!
The gangs all here! Even Owen got in on the egg dying action!
Everybody helps Payton!
Carson decorates one of his eggs.
Hard at work!
Brother and sister...being so kind to each other (for the moment!!)
Look Mommy!
A few of the finished colorful Easter eggs!
To complete the day, a little time playing outside.
Payton and Carson having a little batting practice.
Chad and Calyn playing a little one-on-one....I'm nearly certain Calyn won (right KK?!?). I must say, despite the fact that she is his niece, and 20 years younger than him, he didn't seem to give her a break! This is why I don't do anything competitive with him as my partner - it never works out!
And, the best way to wrap up the night, a quick Easter egg hunt as the sun is setting for the day.
Payton loved finding the eggs and we ended up hiding and finding them until it was dark!
Owen loved his new Easter basket too!
