Payton has been officially potty trained for....well, I don't know how long actually....going on a year (or at least a good solid 10 to 11 months). For a long time, due to pre-school, he had to continue wearing pull-ups during the day.....that quickly faded to during nap time only....and eventually no pull-ups at all during the day. For months and months we have been pull-up free and accident free. For some reason, we have held on to our security blanket....or should I say, security leak guard. Payton has been begging us to let him sleep in big boy underwear instead of the dreaded night time pull-up. It is actually crazy that we've continued for so long. We've even used the same night time pull-up over and over again....until it is worn thin (which as I'm writing this seems kinda gross but he was clean and they weren't dirty). Seriously, the poor kid hasn't had an accident in so long that I can't even remember when it might have been.....before Christmas maybe? So, tonight, we are brave and our big boy is sleeping in his big boy underwear. The smile on his face was priceless! I'm not really sure why we didn't let this happen months ago (other than the fact that I prayed the pull up would protect me from changing a bed in case of an accident). Either way.....no more pull-ups for us! He will be so proud when he wakes up dry and in big boy underwear in the morning!
For now, we're down to a pack of Target size 4 diapers every 2-3 weeks.
Until next year that is.....Owen will surely be a quick learner!
