Today was not my favorite "I don't work on Fridays" Friday. Fridays are always more fun than Mondays but I'm hoping next Friday is a little better than this one! I have a HUGE deadline for work - tomorrow at midnight - and I spent most of the day working on data entry for that project. The best news, it will be over tomorrow. The worst news, I have data entry remaining for about 14 patients. I expect this will take most of my day tomorrow.....even worse that working from home on Fridays is working on Saturday. Saturday and Sunday are MY days with my family and tomorrow I'll be giving that up for work. Life will go on but it still doesn't make me happy!
I was able to take a few minutes off work to eat lunch with Chad today (Subway, he picked up and brought home...nothing too fancy!). Even better, we had the Ballenger's over for dinner - they picked up pizza and salad on the way. It was great! Casual and easy and very little mess to clean up. The kids were great and both Payton and Ella and Owen and Alex played wonderfully together. Maybe they were just tired from a long week...either way, they were just about the best they have ever been together.
Payton just finished up learning about the letter "K" at school this week - moving right along in the handwriting without tears program. He is doing great with handwriting and I look forward to continuing to help him perfect his letters. His last few weeks have consisted of "B" and "R." For show and tell today he wanted to take a kangaroo for the letter K.
Owen has been working on zoo animals and his colors. They tell us he is doing a great job with his colors - we'll see! He is definitely expanding his vocabulary every day! He says more and more each day and I'm always shocked with what he will say! We are working on getting rid of his pacifier....still working!
Today was another great day for Lent - no fried foods, another bag gone and a blog entry done! I will admit that in my head I was thinking of french fries and fried chicken sandwiches (ie: Chick Fil A) when I made my lent commitment - I wasn't really thinking of chips, more specifically chips and salsa at the mexican restaurant. Last night, I had a meeting at church that didn't get out until 7:30 - the boys met up with me at the mexican restaurant for the sake of time....and, I ate chips. I have sense realized that these tasty little treats are also fried......looks like I have made a little slip....but, know that I have another item on my radar I will avoid chips as well....and any other items that seem to be fried! Rookie mistake!
Tomorrow will probably be a hectic day for us - Chad will have to entertain our sweet boys while I rush to meet my deadline. Maybe I should have given up procrastination for Lent....opps, to late!
Off to read Proverbs 3.....
