Happy New Year!

2009 has arrived!

The last week of 2008 was a little rough for Payton.  Starting Saturday night we noticed he wasn't feeling good and he had started running a temperature.  Monday night, after we traveled back to Mt Pleasant, he was very fussy and did not want to lay down to sleep.  He already had a doctors appointment on Tuesday.  At the appointment, he was started on his first dose of antibiotics for his respiratory infection and terrible cough, given ear drops for his fluid filled ears, and given cream for his eczema!  What a day for the little guy!  By Wednesday he appeared to be feeling better.  He is still getting his medicine, ear drops, and Tylenol or Motrin occasionally.

Just before ringing in the new year, Payton fell down and managed to get first real boo-boo....complete with blood!  While pushing one of his walking toys, he lost his balance, fell flat on his back and the toy hit him right in the mouth.  The end result was Payton biting above his top lip with his sharp little teeth.  He cried for a few minutes but I think Mommy was hurt more than Payton!  He was back to playing in no time!

Thursday he slammed his chin onto the table while Chad and I were eating lunch and made his lower lip bleed.  He truly has no fear!

We are certainly excited to see what 2009 will bring!  Although there are a few things we may wish to change about 2008 (the Final Four for starters!), it goes down in the record books as one of our best years....of course we have Payton to thank for that!  May you all have a wonderful 2009!

I am so glad you got the new computer! I check 2 or 3 times a day to make sure I don't miss anything Payton does. Have a great week next week as you will be back on the work schedule!
