Since staring school, we have to wake Payton prior to 7 am every day. He used to sleep much later in the day...especially on weekends. New weekday schedule equals new weekend schedule. Payton was up by 6:30 on Saturday morning. Perfect!
We had big plans for a lengthly tailgate on campus prior to the 6 o'clock UNC vs. Citadel season opener. We were set-up and ready to go by about 1:30. Payton was happy sitting with Daddy and Kade.
When tailgating with Kade, the chicken, chips and sweet treats are paired with a generator, satellite dish, gasoline, HD box, 2 remotes, and a 42 inch flat screen which is used to watch other games, in HD, while waiting for the Heels to play.
Payton enjoyed the chicken and all the attention. He loved playing with the straw for most of the afternoon! He missed his afternoon nap so he was starting to get a little fussy by game time.
Jenny and Payton
Jenny, Daniel, LaShondra, and Christian stopped by for a little pre-game fun!
Game Time!
Looking a little tired!! Payton and Daddy are ready for the game to start!
Payton is not happy being stuck on Mommy's lap! Squirm, squirm, squirm!
Finally, he is happy! He found a perfect spot to stand and really started enjoying the game. He is waving to the crowd!
Intense! He's already learning a few plays!
Payton and Uncle Kade watch as the 2009 National Championship Team takes the field and gets their National Championship rings.
2009 National Champs!
Eric is 6th from the right in navy pants. I kept telling Payton that Eric Hoots was on the field and he would repeatedly say Amy, Amy, Amy!
Eric "Oots" comes to visit and show off his National Championship ring. Payton is amazed!
Cheese! Great picture of Payton and Eric!!
Apparently as the night went on, Payton gained a little energy!
This was Payton's second tailgating and gameday experience. He may not remember his first – he was only 7 months old last year for his 1st game.
Where has the time gone? I can't believe this little Tar Heel has already gown up so much! It was a lot of fun to have him at the game this year. He loves "ball" so he was very content watching it for hours! He clapped with the other fans! He loved all the sights and sounds - the people, the music, the cheering, the occasional helicopters flying over head, and the fireworks! We look forward to taking him to several games this year!
