First Fall trip to Chapel Hill

Thursday after work, we headed to one of our favorite places to see some of our favorite people! We arrived at “Uncle” Kade's around mid-night. Don't worry....Payton woke right up to play! He was finally back asleep by 1:00 AM. Don't worry...he was up at 6:30...and full of energy for the day ahead!

Chad and I headed to Franklin Street around noon. We hit the important shops and found Payton several items for his fall wardrobe! He already had his football jersey (which I am proud to say I found on clearance at Kohl's last year for about $9 rather than the current price of $42!!) This year Payton made his debut as #9 – Marvin Austin.

Shopping was followed by a wonderful lunch at Pepper's Pizza (Jenny D. Wood – I thought only of you as we ate there...a slice and a salad...so delicious!). We had a window seat and Payton loved to people watch. We saw several people we know and waved at them and spoke to a few – including Daniel – so Payton thought we knew every single person and waved at all of the people walking by! Future Wal-Mart greeter I think! Payton ate about 2/3 of his large slice!

We followed lunch with a stroll through campus. Classes had just let out so it was packed with students. I felt so old pushing my stroller through the quad with all those kids walking by! It was a beautiful day and we enjoyed taking our time and enjoying the sights!

We walked in student stores (which has changed completely!!). Picked up a few other items – T-Shirts, books, a baby present or two for some special new and upcoming babies!! Addison, you will have a very nice Carolina blue present soon! Upcoming baby is remaining nameless at this time in case the news has not reached all necessary people (No, I'm not pregnant!).

Straight A's on the way!
Then we strolled back up to the Old Well and the Davie Poplar. Payton enjoyed running through the grass, drinking water from the well, posing and smiling at on-lookers, and climbing on the bench where Chad and I got engaged. I asked him if he loved it there and he said “Yes!” I knew it! I also drove him by our old house and told him that Mommy and Daddy used to live there...for a month or two...and asked him if he wanted to live in Chapel Hill. He said “Yes.” Poor Chad! I already have Payton on my side. Don't worry SC blog readers...I really do love Mt. Pleasant and all of you and I have no plans to leave any time soon, but Chapel Hill is a great back-up plan!
Mr. Mischievous!
Payton is reflecting on his day!

We headed back to Kade's in time for Payton to get a nap. Mommy made a quick trip to the mall. I have to go when we are there because shopping really isn't that great near our house. I only bought one pair of jeans but it made me feel good to see so many stores, so many clothes, shoes, children's stores and Pottery Barn Kids!

We had a great day in Chapel Hill and a big night ahead!
