Family Celebration

Friday morning brought a lot more excitement!!

For the second year in a row, the majority of Chad's family traveled to Mt. Pleasant for an extended weekend to celebrate Payton's birthday with us.  This year we added a few more people.  With the addition of Aunt Gail, all of Chad's dad's family was able to make the trip.  We were also happy to have Chad's cousin, Bradley, Lisa, and Addie here with us for the 1st time.  It means so much to us that they all made the trip to Charleston.  We know it is not possible for all of our family members to make it for Payton's birthday but hopefully at some point each of them can make the trip to our home!  We love opening up our home and showing people all around this beautiful place.  It is so wonderful to have that extra time, away from holidays or quick weekend trips, to spend with our family members.  Payton is always very excited when visitors arrive!  We were excited to see everyone but I must point out that Payton seemed most excited about Christie, Brandon and Michael!  He talked about them for days before they arrived.  Of course, Calyn and Carson weren't here for the big birthday weekend - if they had been here, they would have surely topped the list!

All the Webb's arrived around 11:00 on Friday morning.  It was a beautiful day to be touring around Charleston.  We had big plans to eat at Poe's for lunch but it was too crowded.  As a second choice, they picked Mexican (my mom and I had already been twice in the week!!).  After lunch we traveled downtown.  We enjoyed some time in the market, time in the candy store, and a nice long walk to the battery with everyone.  

Payton especially enjoyed being downtown to see all the horses and the water!  Later that night we all enjoyed dinner at California Dreaming.  It was a great day!

My dad had arrived in time for dinner and Bradley, Lisa and Addie arrived late on Friday night.  Payton was so happy to see his little cousin, Addie.  Addie is 7 months old now.  He danced around in the floor to get her attention.

Saturday we all gathered at our house to spend the day together.  The annual Cooper River Bridge Run was Saturday morning so we had to stay in Mt. Pleasant for the morning.  We decided to take them to RB's on Shem Creek for lunch. With a party of 18 your options are somewhat limited!  The food was great and they enjoyed seeing all the boats and the dolphins.

After lunch, we had a nice relaxing afternoon at our house.  My Aunt Linda and Uncle Bill had also traveled from Charlotte for the weekend.  

They were spending time at my cousin's house but were able to join us for the party.

  

Most everyone enjoyed a re-match of the "Washers Tournament."  Chad and Calyn won the tournament last year.  Unfortunately, Calyn wasn't here to defend her title.  Bradley jumped in her place and again, Chad and Bradley were victorious.  Carlton and Darlene finished 2nd, Christie and Brandon were 3rd, Dalton and Lynn finished 4th and George and Michael fell into last place...just like last year!  They may want to consider recruiting a new set of partners for the next Charleston trip!

Later in the afternoon we celebrated Payton's birthday with his Curious George cake, homemade ice cream, and lots of presents for the birthday boy!

Several people had to leave after presents but most of us hung around for burgers and dogs with all the fixins'!  One thing is for sure, when they come to Charleston, they definitely eat well!  My doctor may not appreciate the extra weight I added on with all of our visitors.

Everyone stayed at our house late on Saturday night.  It was such a great birthday celebration with so many of our family members!  Payton is so thankful to have such a happy, loving family!
