Best Buds Turn 2 Together!

Happy Birthday to Payton and Ella!
Payton and Ella are only 1 week apart.  Payton's birthday is March 25th and Ella's is one week later on April 1st.  As Lindsey and I were discussing their birthday parties and what day each of us was planning to have them, what time, where, etc. we realized it may be easier to do one combined party.  After all, they share many friends and thanks to our Mom's group at Church, Lindsey and I now share many friends as well.  I'm so glad we decided to celebrate together.  The party was a huge success and with two mom's planning together things came together so easily!  We quickly agreed that it would be fun to have the party at Big Toy, a local park.  Since Easter was the following weekend, we decided to have an egg hunt as well.
The Birthday Boy (at his 3rd official celebration!)

Blake and Lila decorate their buckets which were used to find easter eggs and as the party favors.  Very cute idea!
Lila, Reese and Payton
Ella, Payton and Blake...racing after the eggs while Ella looks on!

Jack finds his eggs...while someone else has wandered off missing a basket and their eggs!

What are friends for!  Payton enjoyed "scoring" the eggs into his friends basket.  Here he is scoring in Ella's basket.

Then it was time for the pinata.  Payton took the first swing but made very little progress!

The Birthday Girl gets her 1st swing.

After a few swings by the bigger kids, the pinata broke open and the kids quickly jumped on the prizes!

Let them eat cake!
Reese, Payton, Ella, Lila and Jack are ready for their cupcakes!
Happy Birthday Payton and Ella!  I can't believe you are both 2!  They were so excited when they blew out the candles!

Who knew the beautiful Easter colored cupcakes would make such a mess!  Lila quickly turned pink!
Payton of course requested a spoon for his which limited the blue icing....a little!
Blue!  The two little Heels fans would have preferred a lighter shade of blue! Reese digs into her cupcake and covers her face while Payton continues to use his spoon to minimize the mess....Mommy taught him well!

Cupcake icing + No-see-um's = Icing in the hair!  Most of the kids ended up with icing on their face, their hands and in their hair!  The no-see-um's were uninvited guests at the party and attacked all the kids as they ate their cupcakes.  As they swatted at them, they also smeared icing into their hair.  Yes, what a mess but you couldn't help but laugh!
The girls found a secret spot on the playground - Payton snuck in to see Langley, Campbell and Reese
Payton was so excited to get home and open more presents!  All of his friends were very generous!  We got some great new toys, a new supply of sidewalk chalk and bubbles for the summer, a towel and beach toys, puzzles, books, a new lawn mower and his 1st fishing rod!

Ella, we hope you will learn to wear your life jacket so that you and Payton can get out on the water and learn to fish with your daddy (Yes, I do mean your Daddy - Matt - because he will actually have 3 students if he takes Chad along with him!).

Thanks to everyone who was able to come to the birthday party.  We had so much fun and we really appreciate all the great presents!  You are all invited to our house to play with all of Payton's new toys that he received over his birthday weekend.  We look forward to celebrating with all of you as the kids continue to grow.

Payton I am so glad I was invited to your birthday party with all your little friends! They are all adorable just like you! It was so much fun to see that many 2 year olds have such a good time together! I was a little worried about how it would go but you were all so sweet and nice! I wish we did live closer together so I could share more time with you. I miss you so much! Hope to see you soon! Love to you mommy and daddy!
