Operation Potty Train

Family, Friends and Faithful Blog Followers.....please pray for us!  

Operation Potty Train begins tomorrow promptly at 3 pm (I have to take Payton to school until 3 pm due to my 6 week check-up).

We have the following supplies ready:

• Nearly 30 pairs of cotton "big boy underwear" (this includes 7 pairs related to Toy Story that Payton received as a prize tonight)
• 26 pull-ups which we will only use for necessary outings 
• 28 extra absorbency night time pull-ups with Buzz and Woody on the front which I will use at bedtime (I know some disagree, but when I'm already waking up for nighttime feeds this is the best I can do for now....and I would rather not ruin the new mattress set)
• PRIZES....lots of them
• Stickers
• M&Ms (he will get 3 for every successful pee-pee)
• Paper towels
• Clorox wipes
• 2 servings of patience

We started Operation Potty Train tonight with the "pre-potty training" prize of Toy Story underwear and pull-ups.  We explained that Payton would start wearing underwear after school tomorrow.  I also told him that I had him a BIG prize that he would get for his 1st pee-pee on the potty.  We let him try to pee pee before going to bed and after about an hour, a few tears, one episode of him telling me to "put my pee-pee back in my butt" (after I went pee-pee on the potty thinking it would help),  one episode of him refusing to put his bedtime diaper on and going back to the potty....we had SUCCESS!  Woo hoo!  High fives all around!  He even ran to tell Owen that he had gone pee-pee in the potty.  So, due to his early success, he got 3 M&Ms before bed and his BIG prize....and Buzz and Woody Slip and Slide that I think will come in very handy while we continue Operation Potty Train at home on Saturday.

Wish us luck!  We've been here before but Mommy and Daddy weren't ready and we did not force the issue.  Payton is more than ready and has been showing signs for months.  This time, there is no turning back.  Hopefully the next time you hear from us we will only be using Size 1 diapers for baby Owen.  If you speak to Payton, ask him about the potty too!
