Proudly wearing our Red, White and Blue!
For so many years, my family has celebrated the 4th of July with a family beach trip. We haven't made that trip for the past 2 years. It seems a little strange to be home with no plans for the 4th but that was probably best with a 2 1/2 week old! We had a very relaxing 4th this year and we enjoyed every minute with our growing family!
Owen and Payton (with a little assistance from Mommy!)
My parents had lunch with us before heading back to NC. We tried the new Guy Harvey's Restaurant at Towne Center. It was good but expensive...I'm sure we'll be back though. They did a great job with decorations. This huge boat was a big hit with Payton!

We had a relaxing afternoon and enjoyed dinner at home. My all American boy has learned to love the summer fruits and veggies - including watermelon, cantaloupe, cucumbers, onions, and corn...leave it on the cob please!
Yum Yum!
We had to watch a round of Toy Story...of course!
As for the fireworks, we decided against heading out for a local firework show. We did run out and by a $5 kid pack for Payton but when it was time to let him "play" he was too scared! We settled in on our back porch and actually had a pretty nice show from our house thanks to our SC neighbors who invested more than $5 for their firework shows! Payton enjoyed seeing the fireworks from the comfort of the porch where he was safe!
Owen settled in to watch the fireworks as well!
Happy Birthday America!
