Breakfast with Santa....or Mawmaw

Mawmaw's Christmas Tree
Filled with ornaments that she made in the past
Christmas morning breakfast to Chad is probably equivalent to Christmas Eve with my family to me....its tradition and its just what we do!  We all gather at Mawmaw's house early on Christmas morning for a big family breakfast filled with lots of wonderful food!  This year, we started at 7:00 so that we would have plenty of time to eat, exchange a few gifts and get to church on time.  I had been SO stressed out about the early morning, getting to church on time, how the boys would cooperate throughout all of the events, etc.  I was pleasantly surprised when we had finished breakfast, exchanged gifts, opened toys and still had time to sit around and chat with family.  It was a wonderful Christmas morning!

We gave Addie a play set with a hair dryer, curling iron, flat iron, etc.  Addie and Payton had a great time playing with them and pretending to have a hair boutique!
Addie brushes Payton's hair while he plays with his new Spiderman car

Time for drying!

Payton's turn as the stylist!  I love that he's using the straightener on Addie's hair....so 2012!

Eventually, its Ronnie's turn and they both helped with his hair!
He gave each of them a $1 tip - since we were on our way to church, I thought it would be a good time to teach Payton (again) a lesson about giving vs. saving....and giving as an offering at church.  I told him he could hold on to his dollar and when the offering plate came around, he could decide if he wanted to keep his dollar of give it to the church.  Of course, I expected my little angel to eagerly give the dollar in the offering plate....he loves to put money in there.  Not this day!  In church, the offering plate came by and he held tight to his dollar.  I guess my teaching will continue!

We all went to church together - we enjoyed the Christmas service at Meme's church - however, I think Payton, Owen and Addie enjoyed it most - especially after getting a sucker in children's church.

After church, we headed back to Meme's house to pack up our stuff, have lunch with the Webb's at Aunt Gail's house, and head back to SF.

All of this and it was only 10:45 when we got back to Meme's house after church....we had such a productive Christmas morning!
