The sweetest cousins in the world celebrating Christmas 2011!
Carson (10), Payton (3), Calyn (12), Owen (18 m)
Our Christmas day is especially hectic and on Christmas afternoon we travel from EB to SF to be with my family. A few years ago, we all decided that it would be best - especially so the kids could enjoy their gifts - to exchange presents before Christmas morning. This year, we choose to do this on the morning of Christmas Eve. Whatever works, right!?! This works for us!
We start off the morning with a HUGE country breakfast - country ham, pork chops, eggs, hot biscuits, two kids of gravy, homemade applesauce, honey, strawberry jam....did I forget anything? Its easy to see how we gain weight so easily over the holidays! All 10 of us and all that food barely fit around the dining room table! After breakfast, we all head out to the sunroom and begin our gift exchange.
This year, we started with gifts for the kids. All the kids got some new Carolina gear (a necessity in Webb family!)
Payton and Owen got several new cars tracks - Payton is opening the new Hot Wheels wall track from KK and Carson. Owen got several new age appropriate car tracks - especially great for us because they were easy to "pack and go."
Our Tarheel baseball player.....super cute and ready for the field!
And, while we're getting new uniforms, Carson gets one too! A new #40 UNC Basketball uniform....our family is now complete with two Harrison Barnes'!
Owen got new shoes....and quickly exclaimed "Shoo, shooo" - and, as much as an 18 month old can do, he "demanded" to put them on immediately. Payton and Owen got matching Nike shoes from Meme and Pawpaw and they both wore them for the rest of the morning. Anything Nike is a big hit with my boys!
Elmo! If anything excited Owen, it was "Mel-Mo!!" This Elmo laughs and talks which makes Owen laugh. Gotta love this red, furry, friend!
Owen got a shopping cart from Meme and Pawpaw as well. Meme must have been talking with Grandma because the shopping cart was a great addition to the kitchen Owen would be getting on Christmas day. He also got a birthday cake set for pretend play. Love the cake!
Chad was extremely excited about his 2011 Webb Family book - my yearly gift to Chad - a growing book from Shutterfly that included 89 pages this year! I love this way of keeping all of our best memories together in one spot...I only wish I could put it together and order it a little more quickly each year.....thanks to expedited shipping, this arrived just in the nick of time!
Meme and Pawpaw were happy with their new printer....
...and, probably one of Meme's favorite gifts was this photo book from our 2011 Webb Family trip to New York and Boston.
Chad and I got several great gifts as well and as always, we are always thankful for the wonderful gifts our families give us each year. Chad received some new shoes, a new hair clipping kit, and a few new shirts. I loved my new rug for my front door, some great new Christmas decorations and a great advent wreath that I will love to pull out and use with the my family next Christmas. As always, we got way too much stuff and after our 1st gift exchange it was pretty obvious we would have trouble getting everything back home!!
This first half of Christmas Eve was great.....we showered and headed to SF for the second part of the day.
