Friday FUN Day at the Children's Museum

After returning from our busy Easter weekend, it was difficult to recover and jump back into our daily routines.  Chad and I were both a little more exhausted through the entire week.  We were so happy when Friday rolled around!

Payton and I had lunch with Daddy before we headed off downtown to meet Lindsey and Ella at the Charleston Children's Museum.  Chad and I had taken Payton in mid-February for the first time.  I was interested to see how much different it would be this time.  He took full advantage of the space and the toys.  He walked all over and explored many different things.  I think he really enjoyed the day.

We started in the toddler room.  This room has small items and soft items that are great for crawlers or new walkers.  Payton made himself at home - he walked, climbed and crawled all over the entire room.  He spotted a big red ball and claimed that for the time we were in the room.  We will have to work on the aspect of sharing because he did not want to share the big red ball.

It took Ella a little longer to warm up.  She had just started feeling comfortable when we decided to move on to another room.  Although she may not have been moving too much, she did look very cute in her pink cupcake dress!  If only Payton could wear dresses!
The big red ball - why would we ever need any other toys?!?
The Shrimp boat.  Payton and Ella enjoyed watching other kids run and play on the boat.  Payton eventually made his way all the way around the boat, dodging the bigger kids along the way.
Ella caught her a fish and gave it a kiss!  Her Daddy must be so proud!
Moving on the the water room.  Ella and Payton both seemed to enjoy playing with the boats and the water and watching the boats race down the rapids.
Finally, our favorite room!  This room is filled with golf balls and racing tracks to put the balls on.  Again, what could be more fun!  Ella was ready to go at this point.  She walked from one area to another several times.  They loved watching the balls race around or down the tracks.
Last time we were at the museum Payton liked to hold the balls.  This time, he was quick to pick up the golf balls and place them on the tracks and watch them roll away.  He was much more independent this time.  He walked all over this room as well.  There was another little boy a little older than him who Payton seemed to follow.  Payton was also mesmerized by a dad who was playing like a little kid...maybe it reminded him of his Daddy!  When the balls would make a loud crash Payton would clap!
Our last room is the castle.  Is it just me or does Ella seem to be moving in for a big smooch?  Payton appears to saying, "Not in front of our moms!"
Ella is mad that her moves didn't work....Payton says, "I told you No!"

We stayed at the Children's Museum nearly 2 hours.  This trip was much more exhausting for me.  I definitely chased Payton all over the place and got a good workout for myself!  Payton feel asleep as soon as we were in the car.  We're looking forward to our next trip to the museum!
