Boone Hall Farms Strawberry Festival

Saturday was a beautiful spring day here in the lowcountry.  Chad, Payton, myself and Laura took advantage of the great day and headed to Boone Hall for the annual Strawberry Festival.  Apparently, it was a popular option for the weekend!  There were lots of people and very long lines.  I had hoped to let Payton ride the Strawberry ride but the line was just too long!  Laura and I picked two buckets of strawberries and then waited in line for nearly an hour to pay for the goodies!
Payton was a trooper!  He spent most of his time people watching from his stroller.  On the way out, Laura and I each bought a strawberry lemonade.  I made the mistake of giving Payton a taste.  I think he would have preferred to have his very own cup!  Once we got home, I sliced up a few strawberries for him and he ate them up!

Honeybees!  We knew Grandpa would want Payton to get a good look at the bees.  Payton wanted an up close peek....he is grabbing for the handle to pull them out!  Don't worry, we didn't buy any honey here!  We only like Eddie's Homegrown Honey from Sherrills Ford and Denver!

We now have a whole bunch of strawberries.  I may have over picked...they just looked so good.  They were so big and plump.  I have two good uses - strawberry ice cream and strawberry pie.  Good thing Payton likes them too!  He may be eating strawberries for breakfast, lunch, and dinner!
