| Austin on his 95th Birthday |
Our weekend trip to NC at the end of June was a busy one indeed!
On top of celebrating my birthday and Owen's birthday (with a party on Saturday afternoon), we were also there to celebrate Austin's 95th birthday. Austin is Chad's great-uncle - Chad's grandma's brother. Austin now lives in an assisted living home and they were able to have his party in the house where he lives. Most of Cathy's family members - including cousins that we had not seen in a while - were able to attend. It was a great day celebrating a wonderful man! Austin's health may not be the best but his mind is clear and he still loves to see everyone and visit. His life is full of so many interesting pieces - along with his brother, Clyde, he is a veteran and he made his living as a farmer in Yadkin County. I'm sure this was a great day for him as he was able to see so many of his family members. I'm happy it worked out for us to be there for this day!
