We're movin' in...with a view...and a splash!

In mid-September we were fortunate enough to purchase a lake house with Chad's family.  A quaint 3 bedroom, 2 bath home; a cute outdoor cottage of sorts and a fabulous dock...on the lake.  We spent the first weekend getting the house cleaned up and stocked....well stocked!  All those things that we had been keeping tucked away in our homes, we pulled out and found space for them at the lake!  Great way to clean out the closets!

After getting the house settled, we headed out for a few hours of play time on the water.  Skiing, tubing, laughing and smiling!  The boys are already loving to tube with KK and Carson...and, yes, I said boys....both Payton and Owen LOVE to ride the tube.  Owen loves it SO much, he fell right asleep on KK's lap!!  I'm hoping we can get Payton up to skiing next summer!

We are four hours from the lake house, so I'm not sure how often we will be there to enjoy it but I envision some nice long weekend trips throughout the year.  The best part is that the lake house happens to be about 5 minutes from my parents...so, if we head home to see them, we can also have some lake time...or, if we head home for the lake, we can also see my parents.  I have lots of great memories from the lake.  Chad does too.  We're looking forward to helping the boys make some of these same great memories throughout the years.

While the inside looks a little something like those pictures above, the outside is the best part....

A FABULOUS sunset to welcome us to our new home away from home!

On a side note, I hope you think this picture is as FABULOUS as I do....it's the last one my precious camera will likely ever take....it took this photo and then it died.  No more picture from my right hand man, my faithful Nikon, who has captured SO many of our greatest memories over the past 4.5 years.  Also, without my camera, I've been a little behind on pictures and therefore on blogging...thanks to my handy new iPhone and to my in-laws for letting me borrow a camera, I'm back in business for now.  Hopefully Santa will replace my friend with an even better version!!
