On Saturday morning, we headed back to Chapel Hill for the UNC vs Va Tech game.
Friday night, we had a low key dinner with Kade and MM. After putting the kids to bed, we enjoyed catching up on their back porch. On Saturday morning, I had to get up early....this Saturday was the last Saturday before my big half marathon. I was supposed to run 6 miles based on my original training plan. In Raleigh, around Kade's house, my run consisted of hills....lots and lots of hills! Luckily, the weather was perfect. I set out for my run at 7:30 and made it back to Kade's around 8:30. After getting everyone showered and ready, we headed towards the game.
We grabbed BoJ@ngles on the way....what tailgate would be complete without fried chicken and sweet tea? We were only able to tailgate for about an hour before the early game. The kids were eager to get to the game so we headed in early to watch the Heels run into the stadium.
Payton and Owen were both so excited and did a great job watching the game. They watched and cheered along with the crowd. Owen was a little fussy towards the end of the game so we made a few laps in the concourse...but overall, a big success to have both boys with us at the game.
Daddy and his boys enjoying a Heels victory!
After the game, we headed back to the parking lot for a little post game tailgate. We had a great time visiting with Eric and Amy and a few other members of the athletic staff. Payton had a blast playing with all the adults who were doing their best to kick him a catchable and returnable punt....he worked and worked until he finally caught a punt to be able to return. Owen had used all his energy at the game and for the 1st time in a very long time, he feel sound asleep in the stroller.
We were all happy to get back to Kade's and have a low key night...comfy clothes and pizza for all!
As alwasy, a wonderful weekend in Chapel Hill!
