Family Fun in the Fall

Last Monday, Chad got home from work a little early.  After an afternoon at home with the boys, I was excited to see him arrive at home...and, we were excited to tell the boys that we were going to head out to the Boone Hall pumpkin patch.  We go out to Boone Hall each year however, in the past my main objective has been to get a few good pictures of my lil' pumpkin's in the pumpkin patch.  For the first, we decided to splurge and let the boys enjoy the "extra" activities.  We did not get there early enough to attempt the corn maze but we were able to squeeze in every other activity in about an hour.  It was cheaper to go on a weekday and the afternoon was perfect because there were no lines, etc.

First up, posed pictures for Mom...gah Mom!
Sweet Farmer Owen

Big Farmer Payton

LOVE this picture....Payton is driving the old Farmall

The boys did enjoy playing on the tractors!  Chad and I grew up around tractors so it is a little sad to me that our boys only get to see them when we go home or to the pumpkin patch...but, for those five minutes they did enjoy being the farmer in the pumpkin patch!

My little pumpkin, Owen

My big pumpkin, who is used to the posed pumpkin patch shot, Payton

Love my sweet boys!

After the pictures, we moved on to the fun stuff!  This long line is held up by one little guy who was doing his best to climb all the way up....yes, Owen....slipping and sliding all the way up.  Thankfully the big kids behind him were patient and polite.  He made it up to the top....

...and LOVED the ride down!  You think he did this again....oh, yes...over and over!  With a bigger smile and louder laugh each time!

They had a great jumping mat as well.  The boys loved it too!

After a little jumping and sliding, we headed out for the hay ride.  I was disappointed to find that the "hay" ride was missing one important piece....hay...but, we were on a trailer and pulled by a tractor.  They hay ride was a lot of fun for the boys and they enjoyed seeing all the spooky decorations along the way.  They did a great job with a kid friendly "haunted" trail.

After the ride, time for more play!
My little spiders stuck in the web!

A super fast slide....so fun and fast in fact that the entire family, including myself, enjoyed a trip down!

As our time was winding down, we let the kids pick where they wanted to spend their time.  I was shocked they wanted to go separate ways!  Owen made his way back to the big slide and had so much fun!  Payton headed back to the corn hole and bean bag toss boards!

I love these shots of Owen....if a picture can say a thousand words, these shots do just that!  This is my sweet boys personality in a picture!  Fearless, happy, determined, always having fun and ready to do it again!  Of course, he is also stubborn and feisty but I didn't get a shot of that on the slide!

Honey, I shrunk the kids!

We had a great afternoon at the pumpkin patch - while I wanted to be the cheap mom and skip out on all the fun again this year, I can now agree that it was money well spent.  We had a great time playing as a family!  We enjoyed our afternoon and after the pumpkin patch headed off to enjoy a dinner with friends, Andrew, Laura and Charlie...it has been way to long since we had seen them.  A great day all around!

Happy Fall Y'all!
