Baby Boy #2 update

I am 36 weeks today.

I went to the doctor today, earlier than scheduled, due to a few ongoing contractions, increased pressure and just feeling kinda bad overall.  Last week, I had been having braxton hicks contractions but was not dilated so there was no reason for concern.

As of today, I am dilated to 1 cm and very slightly effaced.  My blood pressure was great, my urine looked great, and overall I'm not having much swelling....great news!!  I am definitely having some increased contractions - both in intensity and in frequency - but they are not consistent and come and go throughout the day.  Obviously, there is only one person who knows when this little buddy will make his arrival but Dr. E does not think he'll be hanging on until June 16th (my current C-section date).

I hope he can hang on a little longer but at this point it is not in my hands!  Dr. E will not do anything to "delay" labor at this point since I am 36 weeks; however, due to the fact that I have to have a c-section she does not want me to go into active labor.  She does not need me to be on bed rest but does want me to limit my activity if possible (ie: no long walks, otherwise life goes on as normal).  I discussed my work schedule with Dr. E and we came to a pretty fair conclusion - she would like for me to work from home on the days that I am able (which would be Tuesday's and Thursday's) and if everything still seems okay, I can go in for my meetings on Monday and for my clinic days on Wednesday.  I still have to discuss this with my boss in the morning - hopefully she'll agree with this plan.

My next appointment is next Wednesday.  Keep your fingers crossed that the little man is still growing in my belly until that appointment!

I have SEVERAL things on my to do list so he has to give me a few more days to get those taken care of (like pack my bag, buy a few baby diapers, and get the car seat in the car!).....and like I've said all along, I still feel pretty confident that despite his "initial descent" I will still be rolling in for a scheduled c-section 3 weeks from today....we shall see!  Looks like Payton will be escaping the potty training 3 day weekend for a few more weeks anyway!
