We have a pond directly across the street from our house. We often find many different types of animals taking up residence in "our" pond. In the past, we've had alligators, turtles, fish, and birds.
This year, we've had a pretty good variety as well!
We originally had 2 geese move into our pond. This happened about 6 weeks ago and we assumed they would be a problem. They never bothered anyone and Payton loved them. He called them "my geese!" A few weeks ago, the Mama goose started nesting - Chad and I (not being up to speed on the nesting habits of geese) didn't realize this was happening. We knew one goose was doing a lot of swimming while the other was doing a lot of sitting but we didn't think too much of this. About 2 weeks ago, we started seeing an alligator in the pond.
One afternoon we took Payton over to look at the alligator - who was far across the pond from our house.
About an hour later, Chad was outside grilling and yelled for me to come back outside....to see these adorable little goslings with their Mommy and Daddy. How cute!!
Alligators and geese don't match up too well. The geese moved to a different pond and the alligator has moved on for now too! I'm sure he'll be back soon! All that excitement made the little turtle a rather boring sight!
