Today I want to take a second to brag about my niece, Calyn. Her brother, Carson, is pretty special too and one day I'm sure he'll get his very own blog post (like, maybe if he wins his math competition tomorrow!!). They both deserve a little bragging for many different reasons but for today, we'll just focus on basketball and the Lady Falcons.
Calyn is a great basketball player and it has been a joy to watch her learn to play over the years. Of course, her uncle attributes all of her talent and success directly to him....modest guy! It probably has nothing to do with the time and effort she has put in to playing, practicing, learning and perfecting over the past several years. Her dedication and determination is obvious.
I am proud to share this article, "Lady Falcons post another perfect season," that was published in their local paper today.

Calyn's middle school team was undefeated for two seasons in a row. No matter what level you are playing on, undefeated is undefeated. It is no small challenge to bring your best to every game and continue to win. Calyn was the leading scorer this year and continues to catch the attention of all who see her play.
We are so proud of you Calyn and look forward to seeing you on the court for many years to come! Keep up the hard work and we know there will be great things in your future (and be nice to your Mom and Dad who help get you to all your practices, skills sessions, weekend tournaments, meetings, summer camps...and soccer and softball just to top it off!).
We fully expect Carson, Payton, Owen and baby # 3 to follow in your foot steps....although, you have set the standards pretty high!
