Day 17....exhausted!

Day 15.....a busy Friday with two wild boys, running errands, meeting Daddy for lunch, begging Mommy for ice cream...mommy is a sucker and gave in, an invitation to dinner with friends, dinner and well behaved children, and a great movie once the kids were in bed....a busy, fun Friday!

Day 16....an extremely busy Saturday!  Left our house around 10:45, got back home around 7:00.  Went to look at new cars (for Chad's company car), had lunch, bought new baseball gear for P...including new cleats, a brand new "real" baseball glove (that Chad tells him he will remember forever!....I think I still remember my softball glove, but I remember that it missed a lot of catches!), new baseball pants...he is set!  A Cougars baseball game in the freezing cold!  Watching the game with good friends who also invited us out to dinner to celebrate a birthday!  Japanese...who can say no?!?!  A wonderful Saturday...full of family time and lots of great memories!  And....another movie after the kids were in bed!  Now, it will be a year before we see another one!

Sunday....not nearly as busy as Friday or Saturday...Sunday School, Church, a UNC basketball game and a day full of Mommy cleaning house while Daddy and the boys played outside.  Why is my bedroom the last to be cleaned...this is twice that it has been skipped...next week??  Maybe?

We actually had a wonderful sermon on Sunday about prayer, as part of our Lenten study.  I hope I can find the time to share what impression it left on me before the first impression has escaped me....today is unfortunately not going to be that day!

Day 17....

This morning, I was so excited to write tonight's entry.  This morning I signed Payton up for 5 Summer Camps and Owen up for 1 summer camp.  I was so excited about the camps...almost as if I was the one who would be attending!  It is exciting because I know Payton will LOVE these camps and I am already looking forward to having him come home each day to tell us all about what he did each day.

Last night was we talked about his camps, we did have to clarify that even though we referred to them as "camps" there would be no actual camping involved...the kid was thinking that he was going to be sleeping in a tent every night!  I promised him that this Mommy would never make his sleep in a tent...but, if he really wants to, his Mom will make his Dad take him camping!

The camps include a week long camp at Montreat while Chad is with our youth group at a conference. I have heard wonderful things about the weekly camps at Montreat.

The other, local camps, include baseball, basketball, golf, and a sports variety camp.  The little brother gets to go to one camp with him....he will be pumped...and he will be sad on the weeks he has to stay home with Mommy or the sitter (unless it is one of his favorite sitters...).

Most of these camps are in late July and early August.  While I am most excited about the fun he will have at these camps, I am also well aware that I will be 34 + weeks pregnant and working part-time.  It will probably be good to have at least one child busy during the day and enjoy a little quality time with Owen before he becomes a big brother as well!

Now, I am still excited and happy to share all of that but I am exhausted!  I feel like I have run a marathon today.

Payton woke up in the middle of the night last night.  He was crying and complaining of ear pain.  It was pitiful.  Although we were experts from birth to two with ear infections, we haven't had an ear infection since last August.  He wasn't running a fever and I knew the infection was due to congestion from his terrible allergies, so he went to school.  He did not want to miss a day!  I made him an appointment for later in the day.

Signing up for the camps was easy....but, it did take a while and I had a certain rush to get it done before the spots were taken!

After signing up, I had to take care of a few other things on the computer.

Owen and I had to run to the store.  The store took longer than expected so we had to rush to get home, get the groceries in and rush back out to pick Payton up.  Then, we had to kill an hour before his appointment.  Owen and I had not had lunch so we picked up something from a drive thru....or "car pool" or "drive pool" as Owen likes to call it!  So funny!

We had a quick visit to the doctor - confirmed an ear infection to the left ear, fluid built up in the right.

We had to pick up his antibiotic on the way home....until our insurance got in the way....2 hours later, meds in hand.

We were trying to get home to see Grandma who is visiting for the week.

Thankfully, Grandma helped with dinner....otherwise, I wouldn't even be writing this!

After dinner, teacher appreciation cards.  I do appreciate our teachers, really I do, but getting my boys to sit still and write and/or draw on a card without making a huge mess is a joke!

Cards, basketball, baths, bed...Payton was snoring before the light was off....for real.  Owen was crying for 30 minutes....for real.

Finally, my day is done.

I am exhausted....and ready to head to bed so that I can make it through tomorrow!  Thanks so much to my mom who will make it a whole lot easier!  I have work and Bible Study tomorrow night....she has two wild boys and a store bought pizza.  Hopefully they are better for her than they are for me :)
