Our morning started with breakfast...together...around the table. This is rare in our house and even though it only lasted about 10 minutes, it was a great way to start our day.
We hurried to get Payton to a birthday party for a friend. He was excited to go to the party at one of his favorite spots.
After the party, off to run a few exciting errands....to the sports store. Last weekend, we bought Payton's new glove and cleats for T-Ball. After his first meeting, we learned he would need a bat....and he has outgrown his helmet. A trip to the BIG sports store, all the way across town was in order....and the boys were excited!
We bought Payton his first bat....a helmet and bat bag will be coming along shortly as birthday presents.
He is all set...glove, cleats, bat. This of course means one thing. We must get home, get changed and head out to a real baseball field with the new gear and new baseballs to practice. Unfortunately, lots of Moms, Dads and kids in the area had the same idea!! It took us a bit of driving to find an open field, but once we did, it was worth it!
The boys...and Mom and Dad too...had so much fun! It was a great way to spend our afternoon. ***I had this thought today...and, I have to write it down to prove to myself and all of you that I did feel this way at one point.....***As I stood out on the baseball field today, watching all 3 of my boys running, hitting, laughing, smiling, I thought to myself, I was meant to be a mom of boys. If we have a girl, what will she be doing on afternoons like this? Maybe we are meant to have a 3rd boy....otherwise, a girly girl would mean that afternoons on the ball field might not be so fun for her!*** End of thought, now, back to hoping for that girly girl that can cheer on her brothers!
As we left the house, I grabbed my camera to catch some of our afternoon fun. So thankful I did...lots of great shots of the boys in action.

Owen immediately put on the helmet, hit a ball and took off for a trip around the bases. This was a regulation baseball field, so he had lots of running to do!
I think the helmet might be a little big for him!
Payton heads out to the field with his new bat, new pants and new cleats...all geared up and ready to go!
The little guy takes his turn at the tee
The bat is a little big for him...don't tell him!
He hits it and takes off running....you just can't see the huge smile on his face!
You can see the smile on Dad's face....and you can tell Owen is laughing and running to first!
Payton takes his first turn with his new bat and a real baseball
A swing and a miss...but, it was a good swing!
He has better luck with this swing!
It was a great hit!
After batting and "playing a game"...that included Mommy batting and running bases too....we moved on to fielding and continued to break in that new glove.
Both boys had a blast and did a great job today! No fussing, no whining....not one complaint! We even had a small glimpse of hope with potty training....Owen attempted to pee pee in the grass twice...he was unsuccessful, but at least an attempt was made! Progress is progress.
As for the UNC vs. Duke game....I see no progress. Sad we weren't able to make the trip but thankful we didn't have to see this in person!
