Day 32...blessings, birthdays, birds, beginnings....

What a wonderful day!

The boys are better!  YAHOOO!  They went back to school and left the house for the first time in 6 days.

Mommy was so thankful to finally do one last load of contaminated laundry, put the medicine away, clean-up the kitchen, sort the mail that had been piling up for days, take a shower, put on make-up and get dressed, make it to my hair appointment for a much needed haircut, meet Chad for lunch (due to lack of food at our house for one thing!), pick the boys up from school with a good report and head to an afternoon birthday party.

Jack H. celebrated his birthday with a trip to Birds of Prey in Awendaw.  It is a great place and you can find more about it here.   We had never been before but I had heard great things and we had seen a demonstration at SEWEE a few years back.  Definitely a great way to spend the afternoon and a great way for the boys to learn as well.  Aside from being there with a group of 15 kids....who were loud and a little wild...it was wonderful!  The boys chatted about it the entire way home.

Payton and his class getting and up close look and hearing about an owl.

The most exciting part was the flight show....of course, the boys didn't pay as much attention as I would have liked, but I was still able to grab a few cool shots!

After the party, the boys rested quietly on the couch...another plus for Mom who was still trying to catch up on a few things that I had missed over the past week.

At 6, our most wonderful sitter arrived....Payton's elementary school had an open house for parents.  I am a bit embarrassed to admit that I got teary eyed 3 or 4 times just listening to the information....I know that he will be so excited to go to kindergarten and I know that I can handle this...but this new beginning will not come without tears....the thoughts of my five year old starting school while I am about 2 weeks from delivering my 3rd child just might be a bit much!

After the informational session, we had dinner with some great friends who we rarely get to see anymore....I hate that life and schedules get in the way of friendships!  It was great to catch up and spend some time staring at their 3rd baby girl...wondering if this is a girl or boy growing in my belly!!  I am excited to think that our children...best buds from birth...may end up in the same class again in the near future!  I can't really call them "old friends" since in the grand scheme of life, they are still our "new friends" but these friendships are the ones I love the most....no matter how long it has been since we have been out to dinner, talked on the phone, etc, we are able to pick up right where we left off!  So blessed to have so many of those friendships in our crazy, busy life!

Blessed to have good health and good friends!  Blessed to have a day to recover and refresh!  Blessed to be able to jump right back in...and make it to school, to birthday parties and to check out the birds....afterall, just yesterday, I never thought we would be so blessed today!
