.....I was about to give birth to our first son....and I can't believe that five years have passed so quickly!
Five years ago, at this moment, I had been pushing for a little over three hours....my doctor was about to tell me that it was time to turn to a c-section...and, I was about to beg her to let me try for just 30 more minutes...she did, so I pushed until about 11:30 pm on March 24th.
Sometime between 11:30 and midnight, the decision was made that I would have to have a c-section...and, things started to move rapidly. Chad got into his astronaut suit for the OR, my friend Gene was called in to assist with the delivery and I started to cry!
I got really emotional....a c-section had not been in my plans...and, I still hate that it had to happen...but, the result was priceless.
Our oldest son entered this world on March 25th, 2008 at 12:23 am to two very proud (and exhausted!) parents.
It seems like yesterday that our journey started! Five seemed so far away! Yet, here we are, an hour an half from hitting that five year mark! Time flies once you have kids. We have had a wonderful five years and we are all looking forward to celebrating tomorrow!
Happy (almost) birthday sweet Payton! From the moment you entered this world, I loved you with all my heart....and had no idea how much that love would grow over the years!

Happy Birthday Payton. Yes, it does seem like not that long ago that our journey began. Ella and Payton just weeks old in infant massage. It does seem very fitting that these 2 will start K5 together in September. Wow! What precious friends they are and such sweet kids and now big brothers/sisters to a growing family. We are blessed!
