My Mom and Dad had sent us a beautiful vase of flowers....of course, they always send all of my favorite flowers!
The real surprise was that my Aunt and Uncle had also sent a small vase of flowers - beautiful pink roses!
Thanks Aunt Linda and Uncle Bill.
Our living room and kitchen are both looking great with fresh flowers. Chad thanks you too...because, really, what girl needs 3 vases of flowers?!?! I suggested he could wait until March 14th and surprise me with a small bouquet when I wasn't expecting it....but now, it is in writing!
Thanks to the flowers that my family sent, Chad found another way to my heart - red velvet cupcakes! I haven't had mine yet but they look tasty!
I found my way to his heart by fixing one of his favorite dinners - Chicken Parmesan. I'm embarrassed to admit that I had never made it before. We always eat it when we go out to an italian restaurant. Tonight, I went all out - bread, caesar salad (with organic croutons!), fettucini alfredo and chicken parmesan. As soon as Payton saw his plate, he said, "Yummy! Carrabbas!" Not the healthiest meal but we all had clean plates - including the boys! It was so easy and delicious. I'll be making it again soon and maybe since it won't be a special occasion I'll try for a lower calorie version!
Chad also surprised me with a card...it had the sweetest message inside...."babysitter"....he got a babysitter for us to go to a real dinner, minus our sweet kids, tomorrow night! Ahhhhh! This is the best thing he could have done. I love our boys but a night out to dinner without them is just what I needed after the past few weeks. Date night with the hubby! I can't wait!
Our Valentine's Day was also filled with small treats for the kids. They had small parties at school and seemed to have a great day. Payton choose Scooby Doo Valentine's to give to his friends and Owen choose Cars 2. I was so proud of Payton for writing every classmate's name on their cards. It took us a while but he did great (especially with the double names and 8 letter long names!!).
Owen was excited to find peanuts in a goodie bag from Grandma.
Thanks Grandma and Grandpa for both of their bags. Cute clothes and not a lot of candy!
Thanks Meme and Pawpaw for their cards and money...we'll be putting that in the bank!
Finally, we hope each of you had a wonderful Valentine's Day. I know this day was difficult for Chad's family as the loss of his grandmother is just over a week old. She was looking down, sending love from above!
My mom worked long hours this week and especially today. Last I heard, she was still working at 8:00pm. Hopefully she can slow down and catch up with us tomorrow!
We love all of our Valentine's!
