Day 1...a day late!

My day 1 post was missing because my internet was also missing in action when I sat down to type last night!

My report for day one includes:

- Successful grocery store shopping. I had to run in the store to buy a few items to use in my fabulous Valentine's Day dinner that I am making for my boys.  I was pleased to find that I could find everything I was looking for without high fructose corn syrup.  I even went for the Organic croutons, made with whole wheat.  It didn't hurt that they were on sale and cheaper than any other bag!  I did have trouble with a few items, including sauces but just searched a little harder for a different brand and walked out with no high fructose corn syrup.

- The problem is that after doing a little research, I realized our pantry is full of high fructose corn syrup.  In addition to high fructose corn syrup, I really want to eliminate red dye #40...but that means giving up easy red velvet cakes....the horror!  There are other processed foods that we really need to get rid of...like those gummies that I had gotten out of the house last week but seemed to reappear this week.

- No soft drinks...but I did have sweet tea.

- I think I did act Christ like, I hope and I did try to see Christ in everyone....even the man at the gas pump trying to sale me things.  As he walked away, I kept my mind from thinking bad thoughts and thought to myself "the least of these."  I didn't buy anything from him, but I did smile.

- The Heels lost to Duke, by 5 points.  Oh how I wish they would have beat those stinky Duke Yucks! I accidently said the word hate while watching the game (not very Christlike) and Payton told me that was an ugly word.  Even worse, I told him hate was an ugly word but the only time it was okay to use it was about Duke.  I explained that Coach K was probably a good husband, father, grandfather and even a good basketball coach, but we did not LIKE him.  I even told him that my mom used to let me say ugly words about those dukies when I was little.   I'm sure God understands...afterall, the sky is Carolina Blue and Coach K is a Devil.
