Perfect end to the weekend

The weekend would not have been complete without Payton getting to see all of his big buddies.  I'm not sure Dr. Wingate counts as "big" but he is older than Payton!!  Luckily we were all around for lunch on Sunday.  We met Kade, CJ, Leslie, Jenny, Hilary, and Johnny at Nantucket Cafe, one of our favorite spots.  Payton was happy to see all of them.  Of course, he was all smiles, showed off his new walking skills, and told them "hey!" repeatedly.
Leslie held Payton for a while after he had finished eating.  He was very happy playing in her glass of water, trying to eat her lemon, and attempting to use her straw.  It was great to see everyone outside of the wedding festivities and I was very happy they were able to see Payton.  We're looking forward to our next Chapel Hill gathering.

We made it home around 6:00.  Perfect timing for Payton to play ball outside.  He now seems to prefer his bat and ball when we play outside.  He has two bats.  One is perfect size and one is too big.  He carries them both around most of the time.  He still seems to throw and bat with his left hand.
This bat is nearly as big as Payton.  He usually just carries this one and uses the other to hit the ball.
Never took his eye off the ball!

Not sure this is the best form but it is left handed and he did hit the ball....we've got a while to perfect his form!

He absolutely loves to play outside.  We keep these outdoor toys in the garage and he now walks to the garage and points at the door opener to ask us to open the door so he can play.  He goes straight for the bat and ball.  He places the ball on the T on his own, hits the ball, retrieves, and places it on the T again.  He would do this for hours and usually cries when we try to take him inside.  He also loves his bubbles but they don't seem to hold his interest for too long.
