15 month check-up

Payton had his 15 month well child check on Friday July 10th.  Payton has never cried at the doctor's office.  This visit was different!  He did not want to be weighed, did not want his height measured and really did not want his head measured!  Thankfully they don't check a blood pressure!  He weighed 24 lb 12 oz and was 31 inches tall.  He continues to maintain a steady growth rate on the growth chart.  Payton had to get two shots.  He did as well as expected with these!  It is so hard for mommy to watch the little guy get these shots.  I feel horrible knowing that I do this to little innocent children everyday!!

We discussed his diet, his development, his teeth (all 14 of them!), and his current behavior problems.  No problems with diet, no problems with development, we will be making an appointment with a pediatric dentist to establish yearly cleanings, and we got a few good suggestions on dealing with these behavior problems!  Payton has recently started hitting mommy and last week he hit Ella.  Dr. Linker gave me several good ideas on how to redirect and how to attempt to eliminate this behavior.  Payton has also been having some issues with separation anxiety. I already knew that this behavior was completely age appropriate and to be expected; however, I was hoping Dr. Linker could give me a few tips on how to move through this stage a little more quickly.  Patience I guess!  I just hate to see him get so upset when Chad and I leave the room or drop him off in the church nursery.  We are about 2 weeks into this stage.  Hopefully it won't last too much longer!

We hope we don't have to see Dr. Linker again until October!
