Friday afternoon we headed to East Bend, NC to see Chad's family for the weekend and to help with a baby shower for Bradley and Lisa. They are expecting a baby girl at the end of August.
We made it just in time for dinner. We met George and Cathy in Yadkinville for some wonderful North Carolina BBQ - complete with vinegar based sauce. You just can't find that any where in the wonderful state of South Carolina. NC BBQ is by far my favorite food so it is difficult to live without! Amazingly, Payton would not eat any of the BBQ. He is getting to be a little bit of a picky eater. This seems to be more of a texture problem than a taste issue...thanks Pawpaw! He did eat 3/4 of a grilled cheese sandwich! After eating, we made it to Meme and Pawpaw's just in time to play in the yard. Payton was happy to have his bat and ball to play with and found a new interest in a toy lawnmower that Meme had been saving. We all walked over to Allen and Chandra's to play as well. It was great to get there and see everyone. Of course they were all very happy to see Payton!
Saturday proved to be a very busy day! We enjoyed playing outside again and getting to use the slide Meme had saved for Payton, visiting with Mawmaw and Deana, exploring at Mawmaw's, visiting with Aunt Gail, playing with Calyn and Carson, riding the 4-Wheeler down to the river, traveling to Winston for dinner with everyone, and ending the day with homemade ice-cream and more family time!
Check out our future landscape professional!
I can't wait for the day he can mow our yard! He may be ready next summer....but I feel sorry for the pine needles!

Payton I will not have to mow the yard this week since you did such a fine job! Thanks! We loved having you and mama and daddy here for the week-end with all the extended families!
